Loan Assistant/Closer
Summary: Ensures loan packages are complete and accurate; may close loan with customer at direction of lender.

Essential Functions |
- Prepares, schedules, and executes consumer, residential, equipment, SBA, commercial building and business loans in compliance with the Bank’s lending policies and procedures as well as applicable Federal and State Regulations.
- Ensures all necessary loan documentation, including credit reports, verifications, and tax returns are properly collected and executed.
- Record, prepare continuations, and/or cancel titles, UCC’s and deeds of trust.
- Request final titles from attorneys, request title insurance on real estate loans, request construction endorsements.
- Order appraisals, request construction inspections.
- Work exception report.
- Assist customers in making draws and payments on lines of credit.
- Notarize documents as needed.
- Have discussions with buyers/sellers, realtors and attorneys as needed.
- File/Scan loan documents.
- Assist in preparation of loan packages for committee approval.
- Remit completed loans to loan operations for uploading.
- Deposit all fees collected at time of application or closing.
- Assist loan officer as requested.
- Ensure bank is in compliance with federal banking regulations including, but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, Community Reinvestment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Right to Financial Privacy Act, Gramm- Leach-Bliley Act, The Federal Reserve’s “lettered” regulations, and Loan Assistant/Closer roles and responsibilities relating to each act.
- Provide back-up to other areas of the branch if needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience |
- Graduation from high school or equivalent GED
- Some college or post graduate technical training preferred
- A minimum of two year’s job-related experience is preferred
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.
- Above average computer and keyboard skills.
- Good organizational skills.
